From Innovation to Resonance: Communication Design for a U.S. Plant-Based Brand’s Japan Launch.
For the Japanese market entry of Eclipse Foods, a California-based plant-based ice cream brand, we provided comprehensive support from communication strategy to execution. Our challenge was to translate the innovative value of “flavor indistinguishable from dairy” into a context that resonates with the sensibilities of Japanese consumers. We designed the entire communication framework to ensure the brand’s global philosophy was accurately interpreted within the unique nuances of the Japanese market.
At the heart of this project was strategic project management, serving as a vital bridge between the U.S. and Japan. Coordinating closely with the U.S. headquarters, we selected the optimal PR partners and led the visual direction for product photography to define the brand’s crucial first impression. By aligning both visual and linguistic elements, we established a consistent brand message that defined the “”Eclipse identity”” in Japan.
For the launch event, we carefully curated the brand story shared by the visiting U.S. founders, ensuring it resonated deeply with Japanese media and influencers. From guest invitation support to on-site moderation, we managed the energy at the forefront of communication. By connecting strategic information design with tangible on-site experiences, we designed the foundation for this new plant-based culture to be accurately understood and embraced in Japan.
